Find My pet collar tag with an honest take on pets

A Tracker Mist on your dog's collar adds them to the Apple Find My app — useful around the house, the yard, and the neighborhood. Read this first, though: it's a Bluetooth tag, not a live GPS pet tracker.

What a Find My pet tag does well — and where it falls short

Read this section before you buy. We want you to get the right tool for your situation.

Ring the collar from the house

Dog hiding under the bed or in the yard? Tap Play Sound — the ~60 dB chirp brings them out or brings you to them.

Last seen in the neighborhood

If your dog gets out, the Find My map shows where the collar was last detected — useful evidence in a dense neighborhood with lots of iPhones.

Coin-light on the collar

The Mist weighs just a few grams — barely noticed by a dog, and gentle enough for a cat collar on an indoor/outdoor cat.

Good for some pets. Honest about the rest.

Best for the dog that wanders the yard, not the escape artist

A Tracker Mist works best when your dog stays in areas where Apple devices pass by — your home, your block, a dog park. In the woods or a rural field with no iPhones nearby, it can only show the last place it was detected before your dog ran off.

  • Play Sound — call them out from the house or yard.
  • Last seen — "Last seen: front yard, 4:23 PM" is useful evidence.
  • IP67 rated — rain, mud, and the dog bowl are fine.
How it works

On the collar in under a minute

01

Pair to your iPhone

Hold the Mist near your iPhone, tap Connect in Find My, name it your pet's name. About 30 seconds.

02

Attach to the collar

Loop the leather fob through the collar's D-ring alongside the ID tag — it weighs almost nothing.

03

Find your pet

Tap Play Sound to ring the collar nearby, or check Find My for the last-seen location on the map.

"Our dog Biscuit loves to hide when she doesn't want to come inside. One tap of Play Sound and she trots out from behind the shed every time. For around-the-house disappearing acts, this is perfect."

The honest guide to pet trackers

Where Tracker Mist works for pets: at home, in the yard, in the neighborhood, at the dog park, on walks. Anywhere iPhones are nearby, the Find My network updates your pet's last location. The ring feature works wherever the pet is within Bluetooth range.

Where it doesn't: if your dog bolts into the woods or across a rural field with no Apple devices nearby, you'll get the last location before they ran off — not a live moving dot. For true escape-risk dogs, a dedicated GPS pet tracker with a cellular subscription (like Tractive or Fi) is the right product. We'd rather you have the right tool than the wrong one.

Good to know

Questions, answered honestly

Can I track my dog with it if they run away?

It shows your dog's last-seen location wherever an iPhone passed near them. In a neighborhood or dog park this updates frequently. In remote areas with no iPhones, it only shows the last known position. For escape-risk dogs, a GPS pet tracker with a cellular subscription is a better fit.

Is this the same as a GPS pet tracker?

No. GPS pet trackers (like Tractive or Fi) use cellular data and satellites for live tracking anywhere. Tracker Mist uses Bluetooth and the Apple Find My network — better for around-the-house finding, not for live tracking a running dog in open terrain.

Is it safe and light enough for a dog or cat?

It weighs a few grams — similar to a standard ID tag — and is IP67-rated against water and mud.

Can I ring the collar to call them inside?

Yes. Tap Play Sound in Find My and the Mist chirps at ~60 dB — most dogs and cats hear it from across the yard.

Does it work on Android?

No. It's built for Apple's Find My network and needs an iPhone or iPad.
