How a key finder actually finds things
Up close, your iPhone hears Tracker Mist directly over Bluetooth and the loud chirp does the rest. Out of range, the Apple Find My network of nearby iPhones updates its last-seen location for you, anonymously.
It is not a live GPS unit and it's iPhone-only — there's no Precision Finding arrow like AirTag's, but for "I dropped my keys somewhere in the house or at the gym," the sound and the map are all you need.

How do I find my keys with it?
Open the Find My app, select your keys, and tap Play Sound to ring them, or use the map to see their last location. You can also ask Siri, "Where are my keys?"
Does it fit AirTag key holders?

Can I replace the battery?
Yes. It uses a standard CR2032 coin cell that lasts 12+ months. Find My shows a low-battery warning, and you swap the cell instead of replacing the tracker.
Does it work without my phone nearby?
Your own iPhone finds it directly when close. When it's away from you, the Apple Find My network of other Apple devices relays its location back to you privately.
Is there a monthly fee?
