Why tag your gear

Built tough for the bag you live out of

Out here you don't need a live map. You need to find the right bag in a packed car at dusk.

IP67 against the elements

Rain, morning dew, a splash at the lake — the sealed coin-cell housing keeps reporting through it all.

Find the right bag fast

Two identical duffels in the back of the car? Tap Play Sound and let the ~60 dB chirp tell them apart.

A year on one cell

A CR2032 lasts 12+ months, so the tracker won't die between trips or deep in a gear closet.

Carabiner-ready for the trail

The leather fob clips to a carabiner, a daisy chain, or a duffel zipper so it travels with your kit. Best near towns, trailheads, and campgrounds where passing iPhones keep its location fresh.

  • Last seen — remember the trailhead you set it down at.
  • Play Sound — pick your bag out of a pile at camp.
  • No subscription — it's ready whenever the next trip is.
How it works

Trip-ready in three steps

01

Pair before you pack

Hold the Mist near your iPhone, tap Connect in Find My, and name it "Gear bag."

02

Clip it on

Attach the fob to a carabiner, daisy chain, or zipper — or tuck it into an outside pocket.

03

Find it later

Open Find My to ring the bag or see its last-seen location around camp and the car.

"We had four near-identical duffels in the truck. One Play Sound tap and I knew which one had the stove. Small thing, but it saved us digging through everything at the campsite."

Honest about the backcountry

Tracker Mist relies on Apple's Find My network, which depends on nearby iPhones to relay a location. Around towns, campgrounds, and trailheads that works well; deep in the wilderness with no people around, it can only show the last place it was detected — it is not a satellite GPS beacon.

It's iPhone-only and has no SOS or live tracking. For sorting and finding gear bags on a trip it's ideal; for genuine off-grid safety you'd still carry a dedicated satellite communicator.

Good to know

Questions, answered honestly

Does a Find My tracker work while camping?

It works best near towns, campgrounds, and trailheads where other iPhones are around to relay its location. In remote backcountry with no people nearby, it shows the last place it was detected rather than a live position.

Will it survive rain and dirt?

Yes. It's IP67-rated against rain, dust, and splashes, and the CR2032 battery lasts 12+ months, so it holds up to outdoor use trip after trip.

How do I attach it to a gear bag?

Clip the included leather fob to a carabiner, daisy chain, or zipper pull, or tuck it into an outside pocket. Use one per bag to tell your kit apart with Play Sound.

Is it a substitute for a satellite GPS beacon?

No. It's a gear-finding tag, not an off-grid safety device. For backcountry emergencies, carry a dedicated satellite communicator — use Tracker Mist to keep track of your bags.

Does it need a subscription?

No. It uses Apple's free Find My network — no monthly fee and no extra app, just an iPhone.
